Try Carolina Beach, which comes complete with a boardwalk, amusements, concerts, and fireworks. In fact, the whole Wilmington area is practically overrun with events and festivals throughout the year!

Wilmington isn't the kind of place where you'll be chipping ice out of your eyebrows every time you leave the house. Over here you're looking at mild winters, with snow a real rarity. Expect plenty of vacationers looking to escape the plummeting temperatures further north. Who knows, you might even be among them. The long, warm springs, meanwhile, are one of the best times of year, leading into hot, humid summers. Thunderstorms can be a regular occurrence, and North Carolina likes to save up the best ones for later in the summer.
